It’s Monsoon season way up in a cloud in Darjeeling. A Ghorkaland Strike has finally lifted just in the nick of time for Emma O’Brien’s imminent wedding to local man Roshan Rai here in the lower Himalayas. As the shops re-open, Mother of the Bride, Eileen O’Brien, has arrived from Cork, thousands of miles away, to help with the flowers, the cake, the church music, Dhog Bet saris for the Irish women, and - to meet Emma’s new Nepali in-laws for the first time ever, just days before the Dhog Bet ceremony...
